- Planet Bollywood Special Correspondant           Let us know what you think about this article

Recently he was named the 'Saviour of the Nation' by Time magazine. Planet Bollywood Supriya Davda speaks to the man who is known as the perfectionist about his upcoming film Taalash.

Aamir, how are you choosing your films?

As an actor I have always enjoyed working on films that push the envelope on commercial format. Whether it’s Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai or Taare Zameen Par, Peepli Live, Dhobi Ghat and Delhi Belly are films of which I have loved and hence produced it. For me script should excite me as an actor and producer.

All your fans have been waiting to see you on the big screen in Taalash. Have you seen the final product, are you happy with it?

I have seen the film and enjoyed myself. I haven't worked on a thriller before and waiting to hear what people think about it.

Tell us about working with a female director?

They are extremely wonderful and capable directors. They know exactly what they are looking for in a shot. Actually approach is individualistic trait and not to do with gender.

Tell us about why you decided to play Surjan Singh Shekhawat?

I play Inspector Shekhawat who is investing a case. At the core of my character there is loss and coping of loss. It’s an emotional thriller.

How do you prepare to play Surjan Singh Shekhawat?

Reema had done extensive research for the role. I did go couple of times to khar police station in the night to see night vigilance team work. I work a film at a time. So keeping the look is never an issue.

You're working with Kareena and Rani again what was the experience like again?

Well Rani and I are working after Ghulam and Mangal Pandey. Kareena and I working after 3 Idiots. Both are extremely good actors and enjoyable to work with. Both are actors who react to a scene and work with me as an actor in a scene instead of working in isolation. That brings a lot of energy and helps improve the overall film performance.

Your recent show Satyamev Jayate was a huge success in the UK, will you be starting the show again?

Yes there is. Once I finish shooting Dhoom 3, Raju's P.K. I would start work on season 2. End next year. Satyamev Jayate 2 will be coming soon.
